Vernon A. Merrill85, Indianapolis, went home to be with the Lord on January 24, 2006. He was born September 16, 1920 to Artie and Mary Merrill, near Kirkland, IN. He married Rose Mary Palmer on November 29, 1941. Vernon worked at Bearings, Inc. for 47 years. He was a charter member of Victory Baptist Church in Indianapolis and treasurer of Child Evangelism Fellowship for 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Zela Davis and Katie Gilbert. He is survived by his wife; his brother, Meredith Merrill; children, Nancy McCracken, Jean Hare, John Merrill, Nona Myers; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.Visitation will be Friday, January 27 from 4 to 8 pm at Harry Moore Family Mortuary, 8151 Allisonville Road, services will be at 9:00 am, Saturday, January 28. Burial will follow at New South Park Cemetery in Martinsville, IN.
